Pugsley is a lovely young boy currently in foster in Hemel Hempstead. Pugsley has progressed really well with the love and care of his foster mum and is now ready to find his forever home. He was initially very shy and nervous, but is gaining in confidence. He is still very cautious around people (particularly men) but is now becoming more curious. Pugsley is very food motivated, so is braver if treats are available.
He lives alongside two resident dogs, enjoys their company and would be best suited in a home with another confident dog he could learn from and play with. Pugsley has not lived with children and, because he is wary of new people, will need a quiet adult only home without too many visitors. He has not lived with cats or small animals.
Pugsley is clean in the house, walks nicely and is good off lead. He’s a young boy so needs a lot of exercise, and loves nothing more than to find another dog to chase and play with. He is good in the home and can be left for short periods with no issue. He is still getting used to being in a car, but soon settles down and relaxes. Because he is wary of strangers and more suspicious of men, we would prefer any new adopters to meet with him a few times in order to build up his trust and confidence. For this reason he will need adopters who either have rescue experience or experience of nervous dogs.
His foster mum describes Pugsley as a happy and content dog who will make a really lovely companion for an active household who love walks and plenty of exercise!
